HEAVY DAMAGE. Berlin Reports Bombing Of Bristol.

Extensive damage was - ' done to buildings, causing casualties. There was a small raid on the west Midlands. ' A bomb, falling when the worst part '."<• of a raid on a west England town seemed over, directly hit a shelter at a school, killing six and injuring six. A number had left the shelter earlier for ■'.'■■ their homes, or casualties would have been heavier. t",." A raider flying at 300 feet machine- * f gunned a crowded train in East Anglia. £f ; ■ One person was killed and two injured. .**.-.;. Berlin radio says German bombers il' attacked harbour works and docks at -.: Bristol, and factories and other objectives #*K>! in the neighbourhood. Fires and *«?fc explosions were observed. ~»J.;. A communique issued on Saturday 5*,..'." night, says British Official Wireless, •i't".~* stated: "Since mid-day to-day there has *?"** been little enemy activity over some ™**'' coastal districts. Bombs have been dropped in a few places in eastern Engjs land. No one was injured, though at one place several houses were damaged. Machine-gun fire from swooping enemy , aircraft over Norfolk caused a small ; number of casualties." An enemy bomber was shot down by R.A.F. fighters near the north-east cost thia afternoon (Sunday).
