COURAGE OF CREW.
BLAZING MUNITION BOAT. British Official Wireless. (Reed. 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Mar. 30. The courage of a dockyard picket boat crew—four men whose average age is nearly 60 years —in towing a blazing boat laden with ammunition clear of other craft in Portsmouth Harbour recently is the subject of warmlyexpressed admiration. The picket boat was under way in the vicinity. The coxswain at "once approached and volunteered the services of his boat in a tow. He dragged the blazing boat clear of other craft into open water under a fusillade of exploding am'mnnition. He was just in time, for hardly had the burning boat been got well away into the stream than she went up in a hea»y explosion which shook the picket boat and her crew severely and would undoubtedly have done much damage had the boat not been towed clear. The picket boat, which was the port admiral's barge at Portsmouth 36 years ago. is intact and the crew continue to do excellent service.
