D.F.C. FOR AUSTRALIAN.

(Reed. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 27. An Australian pilot who dived to attack nine Junkers 87's, accompanied by only one of his section is awarded the D.F.C. in the latest list of Royal Air Force honours. He is FlightLieutenant Perrin, R.A.A.F.

The two British aeroplanes, on diving to attack, were immediately set upon by 15 Messerschmitt no's. FlightLieutenant Perrin shot down a Junkers and a Messerschmitt before a cannonshell bursting in the petrol tank covered him with petrol, set the aircraft on fire, and slightly wounded his right eye. In spite of this, he continued to attack another Messerschmitt at a low level until his ammunition was spent. He then crash-landed his aircraft.
