Mr. R. Munro, of Suva, Fiji, is staying at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. W. E. Tarry will leave for Wellington this evening. The Hon. R. Semple arrived in Auckland on Saturday and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Colonel L. Potter. Headquarters Northern Military District, arrived in Auckland this morning. Captain J. W. Burgess, chief pilot of T asm an Empire Airways, left for Wellington by air to-day. Mr. P. T. M. Kissel, Dominion lighting controller, will arrive in Auckland to-mor-row morning to be present at a meeting of the central committee and the reduced lighting committee of the Emergency Precautions Scheme Organisation. Mr. I. J. Goldstine. Mayor of One Tree Hill, lias been appointed deputy-dli airman of Xo. 1 Area Manpower Committee. Mr. Goldstine will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. L. J. Kendall, chairman of the Papatoetoe Town Board, who will shortly enter camp.
