The story of liow a motor car driven by a drunken Maori crossed the pavement of John Street, Whangarei, struck a brick wall and then backed against a stationary car was told in the Wliangarei Court this morning, when the driver, W. H. Waaka, fanner, of Wliangarei, was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. He pleeded guilty. Waaka was sentenced to 10 days' imprisonment with hard labour by Mr. R. Ferner, S.M.
