POSTAL CHANGES.
CHIEF AT AUCKLAND. TRANSFER FROM HAMILTON. (0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. Succeeding Mr. R. G. May as chief postmaster at Auckland, Mr. Charles Clark, at present chief postmaster at Hamilton, will take up his new duties next Friday. It was from Hamilton that Mr. May went, two years ago, to Auckland, and the Hamilton position now vacated by Mr. Clark will be occupied by Mr. A. M. Rosie, who it; deputy-postmaster in Auckland and is an officer of long experii cnce in the postal service.
Mr. May's 40 years' service- in the Pest and Telegraph Department started on the telegraph aide, and he was at Hawera, Wellington, Wanganui, Auckland and Thames before a break caused by four years' service in the Great War. On his return to New Zealand in 1919 he -went to the postal side, and has filled positions a* postmaster at Papakura, Pukekohe, Westport, Greymouth. New Plymouth and Hamilton. Balclutha was the place of Mr. Clark's birth, and also of his entry into the Department. After service in a number of South Island offices, he was supervisor in turn at Stratford, Wellington, New Plymouth and Palmerston North, and postmaster at Feilding, Whangarei and Hastings before coming to Hamilton.
