The junior committee recommended that application should. be made to hold the New Zealand Junior championships In Auckland. It was decided to defer decision on this question until the general meeting of the association.

With regard to the coaching of Junior players, the committee recommended that, in addition to the individual coaching of selected players, juniors nominated by clubs should be given class coaching. and such of them as showed special promise should later receive . individual coaching. This scheme was approved by delegates.

Reduced entries in senior events were referred to in the report on the Auckland championships, which also recorded very heavy entries In the boys' intermediate and junior events. A substantial drop in receipts from the tournament was shown by the financial statement.

A motion to reduce the levy paid by a.Tilia'ed clubs to the association by 1/ per member was put forward by cielegates of the Farnell club. In support, of the motion. Mr. Spooner printed out. that- the clubs were faced with rising c*sts f.nd dwindling memberships, and that a rebate of l' 2 d per member had been made by the NewZealand Association to the Auckland Association. Mr. S. A. Cleal, in reply, quote J the association's adverse balances of the two previous seasons and pointed out that no revenue from exhibition matches was possible. After considerable discussion the motion was lost.

The men's titles in the first, second and third sections of the Auckland hard court championships will not be involved in this year's tourney. This was decided by a majority vote of delegates.
