LOSS OF MAILS.
DVE TO ENEMY ACTION.
Advice has .been received by the chief jMistmaster in Auckland. Mr. R. <;. May. from the British Poet Office, that letters for Xew Zealand, posted in the United Kingdom between October 16 and ."50 and parcels ported 'between October 10 and 30, have been lost by enemy action. The Postmaster-General, the* Hon. P. C. Webb, has announced that (i 9 baTs of letters, newspapers and other mail, iind .'52 hag« of parcels, posted in the South Island for Great Britain, have been lost. The postings would comprise those made in the Oaniaru, Dunedin and Inverearjrill districts during the period Otol>or 20 to 24. XV> correspondence for member* of the New Zealand Ex[>editionary Force was included.
