DELHI COUNCIL. Co-operation Of Nations East Of Suez. British Official Wirpless. (Reed. 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 30. As a result of the recent Delhi Conference, an Eastern Supply Group Council will be set up to make British territory east and south of Suez selfsupporting in wartime. "The Times" aays: "The Permanent Council will be composed of members nominated by India, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, with a chairman from the United Kingdom. In the meantime delegates are completing a survey of the resources available. "A Business Council will ensure that the most effective use is made of these resources to avoid overlapping and see that the deficiencies of any country of the group are made good by the others. Great economy in the use of shipping and an increased source of supply should result. "The figures put before the conference show that India and the three Dominions concerned can supply most of the munitions and military equipment needed by the forces east of Suez and at tho same time can contribute in an ever-increasing volume to the requirement* of the forces operating from Britain. Other participating territories can augment this expansion by supplying raw materials. "With so much already achieved what now is needed is an intelligent direction of the common effort to serve a common purpose. In working out plane for this and in supervising their application, the Council will be organising a form of economic co-operation invaluable in the work of reconstruction after the war as well as in helping to hasten victory." e I -I
