VISITORS TO TARANAKI. INQUIRIES FROM POLICE. (0.C.) XEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Some Xew Plymouth hotels have filmed away an average of 10 persons a night since Christmas Eve. Racinjr and other attractions broujrht so many visitors to the town that hotel accommodation hae been completely booked out and have been at their \vit"s end to find somewhere to sleep. Many boardinjrhouses have had theii accommodation overtaxed and they, too have had to turn inquirers away. Desperate for a place to sleep. of visitors have recently wandered r<>un<; jthe town l<K>kin:i for places at which t< stay. Anionjr those from whom anxiou? [inquiries have l>een made were police■men on the lioat. but it is not on record yet that they offered the use of thj lock-up cells for the nijrht, as constable; in another overcrowded North Islanc town axe rumoured, to have done nol long ago when, -called on by Taranak
