RUNS BEST FIVE. WORK AT EIXERSIIE. No. 3 grass track was available for fast work thie morning, the going being in eplendid order, though there wae not a great deal doing. One of the best efforts was that of Our Jean (McKenzie), who came home from the five-fnrlonge post in 1.4 2-5. She ran the last half mile in 49 2-5s and finished up her task in good style. Golden Bonnet (Manson) reeled off half a mile in 495, the best of the morning over the distance. In a similar task Peter Douglas (Brown) and Dependable (Manson) shaded Kaimanawa (Wiggins) in 50s. The last-named could have done better. Inver (Messervy), who ie to race on the final day. ran half a mile in 49 4-ss. The two-year-old, Prince Louis (Brown), hit out very freely while running three furlongs in 37e. Other gallops were: — Th'ree Fnrlonge.—Young Finance (Speck), 38 4-sa; Wee Pay (Gilclmst) and Our Gold (Tremain), 37 3-ss; Last Survey (Speck) and British Camp (Pell), 395; Cherry Ticket (Gilchriet), 38 2-se; Wardress, laet three, 425. Four Furlongs.—Beeswing (Kerr), 51 2-os; Besiege (C. G. Goulebro), 51 l-ss; Gold Vaale (MeKenzie), 51 3-se. Five Furlongs.—British Mint (Pell) beat Pacifist (Meeeervy), 1.4, laet four ole* Mintlaw "(Wiggins), 1.6 4-5. Sound. — Loombination (Brown), ■ the last seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5.
