DOUBLE TO CRACKAJACK.
Crackajack, a four-year-old novice pacer by Jack Potts from a Sonoma Harvester mare, drew attention to hie future prospects by capturing a double in fine style. After winning the Lewie Pass Handicap, one mile and a quarter, in 2.55 from 3.5, he came out in the Recovery Handicap (penalised 24 yards) and easily accounted for the opposition in 3.28 from 3.41. He had had one run last season and four this season—all unplaced performances.
* DRUMOAK SOLD. • Drilmoak. who created a good impression when he accounted for the Achilles Handicap at Forbury Park in the unofficial time of 3.20 l-s,*was sold between days to E. J. Smith, who trains and drives the promising Bush Laddie. Drumoak carried his new colours on the second day of the meeting, but failed to enow up. However, he ie a very speedy customer who shows every indication of developing into a stayer, and he should not be long in repaying some of hie purchase money. FAST GOING. Among the Canterbury trainers who will be on deck at Epsom is the veteran Free Holmes. Six years ago Holmes registered the unique achievement of driving Roi D'Or to victory in the Aehburton Cup and next day winning tfie Auckland Cup behind Graham Direct.
