t Quite a number of the wrest stamps have been found in strap collections formed by schoolboys. The rarest stamp o<f all vw first found by a schoolboy collector in British Guiana. The stamp was sat up in ordinary printer's type in a newspaper • office in British Guiana in 1856, a*> a fresh supply of postage stamps had not ' arrived from London. "After passing through the hands of several collectors and dealers, k finally 3 found its way iivto the collection of Baron von Ferrari, one of the world's ? most famous collectors, and when his collection vas sold in 1922 the Guiana stamp fetched the Tecord price of £7350. It was purchased by the late Mr. Arthur r Hind, the well-known American collector. The stamp has now been insured on Lloyd's foir £10.000. and is i:ndoubtedly the most valuable piece of pa per in existence.
