CORRESPONDENTS' VIEWS.

MILK SUPPLY.

(To the Editor.)

Xo fair-minded person ■would denr that fcince the Auckland Milk Council took control the milk supply of this town lias improved tremendously. Order has come out of chaos, but further improvement* could and should be effacte«* That men should be erpected to wan* about at all hours of the in the winter months when there i* no necessity for it is absurd. Further, that the consumer who takes the trouble to leave his receptacle at the front gate should pay the same price for his milk a* the person who pets delivery at the back door is not fair. That we should take milk in bottles which have been left in other houses for a whole day and in many cases put to impro[>er uses make* the bottled-milk idea objectionable to those who jrive any thought to the matter. I suggest: — (a) The institution of a coupon system, providing for different colours for different denominations and a lower price being charged for front-gate delivery; (bi the "use of seamless billies fitted with hinged lid* to facilitate delivery and ensure cleanliness and to serve as an alternative to b-j'tles. If these proposals were adonted a clean and safe delivery wou.'d be'ensured and consumers could be freed of their thoughts regardins the m:-:j«e of Ixittlen and people who want extra service. in the way of back-door deliverv would pav for it. •T. LITTLK.TOrrN\ President. The North Sliore Milk Producers' JUsa.
