LEGITIMATION ACT.
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Regulations implementing the Legitimation Act passed last year are published in to-night's Gazette. Under the Act the law regarding the legitimation of children was modernised and put on a better basis. Previously legitimation was dependent on registration, but under the Act a child becomes automatically legitimated on the marriage of its parents. The regulations make provision for registration so as to place the facts of legitimation on record.
