ATTEMPTS TO CHECK. Reign Of Terror By Left Wing Of Iron Guard. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed, noon.) BUCHAREST, Nov. 28. (ieneral Antonescu, Prime Minister, has issued a decree imposing the death penalty for wilful murder, and for robbery if over £1000 is involved. The decree, the issue of which was hastened to cover any future attempts bv unauthorised persons to take the law into their own hands, also provides a penalty of from five to ten years' hard labour for kidnapping and breaking into private premises. The Budapest correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says General Antonescu is struggling to cheek the anarchy which is developing. It is reported that he is considering resigning if the Legionaries are not restrained. A reign of terror exists in Bucharest, despite the leaders' plea for order. M. Bratia'nu, former leader of the Liberals, and M. Amandi, a former Minister of Justice, may also have been murdered. The Legionaries are a rebellious wing in the Iron Guard. M. lon Codreanu may be their leader. The memberg include a number of priests. The Legionaries themselves informed the police of the executions, but notte was detained, not even for questioning. They dumped the bodies of their victims in the prison grave, from which the bones of members of the Irctn Guard had previously been taken. The Berlin news agency stated that Legionaries yesterday took Professor • forga, who was. The "i'opolo di Roma" described the executions, in Bucharest as an unjustified lynching, and added that such action was not legal, and was contrary to M. Antoneseu's political tendencies.*
