ihe Hon. R. Semple, Minister of National Service, will return to Wellington on the Limited to-night.
Mr. W. R. Butcher, locomotive engineer to the Railway Department, arrived in Auckland on the Limited this morning.
VVing-Commander K. L. Caldwell, M.C., D.F.C.. officer commanding the Woodbourue air station, and Mrs. Caldwell are in Auckland.
M. Armand Nihotte's appointment as Consul-General for Belgium at Wellington for New Zealand has been recognised by the Governor-General.
Mr. E. J. Fawcett, Assistant DirectorGeneral of Agriculture, is paying a visit to Auckland and leaves for the South by the Limited to-night.
Mr. A. A. Davidson, liaison officer for BWt.eh Overseas Airways, is paying a visit to Auckland. He will travel to Sydney on the next flying boat.
Captain Duncan Mac Donald, of the Union Steam Ship Company's transpacific motor vessel Hauraki, has resigned in order to go to the United Kingdom.
Mr. C'. Bobby, an English poultry expert. has been appointed a superintendent of poultry husbandry in New Zealand, and will arrive in the Dominion shortly.
Messrs. I'. H. Angus, locomotive superintendent to the Railway Department, and R. J. Gard, locomotive designing engineer, will bo passengers for the South on the Limited to-night.
Right Rev. Dr. Liston will leave' Auckland to-morrow for a series of confirmations at Whangarei and in the parishes of North Auckland. He will return to the city on December 11.
Mr. C. G. E. Harker, the National party member for Waipawa, was formally welcomed at the caucus of the National party by the former Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Adam Hamilton.
Mr. H. C. Kent, of Wellington, has been appointed assistant general manager of the Tra lers' Finance Corporation of Australia and the Australian Guarantee Corporation at the head office, Sydney, and will go there next month.
When a log fell on him at his father's farm yesterday, Edward Reber, aged two years, son of Mr. Walter Reber, of Kumeu, suffered a fracture of the right leg. The child was taken to the Auckland Hospital. His condition to-day was satisfactory.
