SECRET SESSION.
N.Z. WAR EFFORT. PROMISED FOR NEXT WEEK. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A secret session will lie held before Parliament adjourns for the purpose of hearing statements from Ministers relating to the war situation and New Zealand's war effort. This was announced in the House of Representatives following a question by Mr. Lee (Dem. Lab., Grey Lynn) on behalf of Mr. Barnard (Dem. Lab., N/tpier) making this suggestion. "If the House expresses a general wish for discussion of the war situation I shall be pleased to arrange it," replied the Prime Minister. "Not so much a discussion," interjected Mr. Lee. "We would like to hear what you have to say." The Prime Minister added that member! had the right to obtain the fullest information, and he would suggest that when the ordinary business was completed, a secret sitting should be held, commencing probably on Thursday of next week.
