In most convincing language, the Hon. E. Semple at the Town Hall last night, told of the dangers threatening the British Empire and of the necessity of forming a Home Guard conr-i-ting of volunteers. Why a Home fJuard of volunteers? The (witcntia! dangers tiiat threaten New Zealand to-dav are so menacing, and the i-all fir service so necessary, that only a i-onipul-nrv H"jno Guard «i!l meet the need.
