AIR FORCE CASUALTIES.
ONE KILLED, ONE MISSING.
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
It is officially announced that PilotOfficer John Charles Mallon, previously reported missing and later reported to be a prisoner of war and wounded, is now reported to have been shot down on October 8 and buried in Guines J>emetery, France. His father is Mr. A. Jtallon, of Bell Block, New Plymouth.
Pilot-Officer Brian Henry Herrick is reported missing in air operations. His father is Mr. E. J. Herrick, of Lindisfarne, Hastings. Pilot-Officer Herrick is a brother of Pilot-Officer M. J. Herrick, who was recently awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Another brother, Sub-Lieutenant L. E. Herrick, is in a submarine in the Royal Navy.
