WAR EFFORT.
FIVE YOUNG GIRLS. "EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS." Some six or eeven weeks ago five little girls in Mount Eden formed a club known as "The Every Little Bit Helps nub." the object being to raise fund* for patriotic purposes. Meetings have been held each week, and they have, on their own initiative and without the aid of any adults, composed a playlet. On Saturday afternoon last they, themselves, organised and held a fsir at Waitomo Avenue. Mount Kden. for the pur[M>se of obtaining fund*. t'« lie handed to the Mount Kden Patriotic Fund, their objective being £1. Adults erected a stall and friends from far and near were entertained bv the club members with the nlavlet and concert items. The result far "exceeded expectations and thev handed Mr. A MHK Mayor of Mount Eden, the 'sum of £4 2/1. These girls, none of whom exceeds the age of ten years, are Valmai I earce (club captain).
