"CHEERIO!"
t Q GREETINGS AND NEWS. A FRIENDLY SERVICE.
Bring or send your "Cheerio!" to the Star office before 9 p.m. to-morrow so that it may be included in next Saturday's big spread of greeting® in the "Eight o Clock'' sports edition. Recipients overseas have already acknowledged by air mail the first batch of "Cheerios!" They relate with what gratitude the men opened up the popular Saturday evening paper to find their names and the affectionate salutations of [mother, wife, family and pal. Remembrance and thoughts of home mean much to the soldier, sailor or airman overseas. Hourly his life is at stake in the cause we all hold sacred and the fighting man likes to be assured of the loyal and affectionate remembrance of those at home. Essentially practical in all undertakings, New Zealanders are at heart deeply sentimental. That is why the "Cheerio!" is so popular. With the "Cheerio!" goes the "Diggers' News Summary," a tabloid supplement, painting a word picture of all the news of the current week in New Zealand. Keep your boy in touch with his homeland by means of the "Eight o'clock's" friendly service. The news which he reads in the summary gives an accurate I survey, but it has been selected from the angle of the man on active service. Fifteen words can be sent in the "Cheerio!" for 2/ti. Each set of five extra, words *Jd. There is no charge for 'military number, unit and name. All authorised "Star" agents accept "Cheerios!"
