SMART TROTTERS.
IN RUKUHIA HANDICAP.
An event which should provide one of the best contests at the Waikato meeting on Saturday is the liukuhia Handicap. The race is for straight-out trotters, with a 4.f»2 limit for the two miles. Nine have been paid up tor and all have proved their ability to trot solidly. Xo horses are on the limit and the front division will start front 12yds, On this line are Air Pilot, Sir Tony and Short Wave, and both Air Pilot ami Short Wave have won more than once this season. Margin, on 24yds, is a good trotter, and stays well, while Canadian. Cracksman and Vain Lad, who are on .'fciyds. are capable of going a pretty good two miles. Roi Grande, 72yds, is set a task which should be too muck for him and (lay Moko. 96yds, would have to do much better than she has recorded up to the present to have a winning chance. Air Pilot, Short Wave, Cracksman, Vain Lad and Margin should in themselves provide a great contest.
