ONEHUNGA SOLDIERS.

A civic social was tendered in the Drill H«1I last evening to Onehunga soldiers on leave, also to oflicers and men on leave from the air force and navy. There was a large attendance of citizens, the Mayor. Mr. A. Garside. presiding. Addresses were given by the Rev. W. J. Pellow, representing the local churches, Mr. X. A. C'hing. president of the R.S.A., and Mr. <;. V. Thorpe, on behalf of the business people. Each soldier received a wallet containing a ten shilling note, j A social and dance concluded the proceedings.
