DOMINION PILOTS. MORE FLYING CROSSES. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Information concerning latest awards of Distinguished Flying Crosses to eix more New Zealanders was received byAir Headquarters to-day. The recipients are: — Acting-Flight-Lieutenant Cecil Dunn Milne, Royal Air Force, Auckland. Acting-Flight-Lieu tenant Frederick John Lucas, Royal New Zealand Air Force. Tuapeka Mouth, Otago. Flying-Officer William Maxwell Xixon. Royal Air Force. Pukerau, Otago. Flying-OHicer Wilfred Maurice Chalk Williams, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Napier. Pilot-Officer Donald Joseph Harkness, Royal Air Force. Midhurst, Taranaki. Pilot-Officer Peter Wynn Mason West. Royal Air Force, Palmerston North. Prisoner of War. Flight-Lieutenant Milne, aged 27, is a prisoner of war in Germany. He was educated at the Papakura School and the Seddon Memorial Technical College, Auckland. He was nominated in 1931 for entry into the Royal Air Force as an aircraft apprentice, and entered the school of technical training in Halton, England, for a three yearn' course. He was awarded a cadetship, and entered the Royal Air Force College at Cranwell for training as a pilot officer. He took first prizes for the grand aggregate and educational subjects, and wa.; awarded the Lord Wakefield scholarship. FlightLieutenant Milne is married, and his mother, Mrs. F. Millie, lives at Papakura. Flight Lieutenant Lucas, aged 2") joined the Otago Aero Club, and gained his "A" license in I».V>. The next year he left for England to join the Roval Air Porce. According to the official citation. J-light-Lieutenant Lucas has since the beginning of this year completed 18 reconnaissance and pamphlet raids over Germany, and 35 major bombing attacks on enemy and enemy-occupied territorv. His consistently good work has been marked by very definite devotion to duty, and his ca|iabilities as captain of aircraft have produced excellent results He has Shown marked ability to find and bomb his primary target! FlightLieutenant Lucas is married and has a young daughter. Flyinjg-Oflicer Nixon, aged 27. was born in Auckland. Bombing of Enemy. Flying-Officer Williams is a son of the Rev. Canon W. C. Williams, of Napier and was serving with the Roval 4ir Force before the outbreak of the war. About the middle of 1939 he was transferred to the Roval New Zealand Mr rorce for posting to the New Zealand Squadron. Since the beginning" of this year states the official citation, he had completed numerous reconnaissance and pamphlet raids over Germany and 30 major bombing attacks oil enemy and enemy-occupied territory. As captain of aircraft he has carried out his duties with courage and hi«h devotion to dutv Flying-Officer Williams is married, his wife and son being in New Zealand. Pilot-Officer Harkness, aged 24, was born at Midhirst. He became a member of the Canterbury Aero Club, and in '8 he was selected for a short service commission in the Royal Air Force. His father is Mr. G. P. Harkness, Midhirst Taranaki. '

Pilot-Officer West, aged 23, was born in PaJnierston North. He gained his pilots 'A license with the Middle Districts Aero Club in 1937. when he was also selected for a short service commission in the Royal Air Force. His father is Mr. E. V. West, of Palmerston North.
