Included in army promotions contained in the latest Gazette is that of Major A. H. L. Sugden, Commandant, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, to the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel. Northern District School, Narrow Neck, to be Captain and Quartermaster (temporary). Army Ordnance Corps.—Lieutenant and Quartermaster S. Thomson, Officer in Charge Workshops, Devonport, to be Captain and Quartermaster (temporary).
New Zealand Temporary Staff.—Captain H. S. Harrison, Quartermaster, Papakura, to be Major (temporary).
New Zealand Artillery.—Second-Lieu-tenant (temporary) R. D. Horton, 11th Heavy Battery 9th Heavy Regiment, to lie Lieutenant (temporary).
Corps of Signals.—Captain G. J. Robertshaw, Northern District Signal Company, to be Major (temporary).
Auckland Regiment.—Captain A. H. Hunt, Ist Cadet Battalion, to be Major; Lieutenants V. C. Butler and L. Lucena, Ist Battalion, to 'be Captains (temporary); H. F. Prothero (late Imperial Army), to be Captain (temjKirary). and posted to Ist Battalion: Second-Lieutenants (temporary) T. H. C. Caughey and R. H. Chisholm. North Auckland Regiment.—Captains O. S. Olsen and .T. A. Lambden, M.C.. Ist Rattalion. to be Majors (temporary) ; Lieutenants K. Haslett. R. M. Harding. F. C. Cornwall, M.C.. and .J. A. CresswelL M.C.. Ist Battalion, to be Captain (temporary): Lieutenant- H. S. Bannister. Ist Battalion, to be Quartermaster with the temporary rank of Captain.
Waikato Regiment. — Captain F. Ist Battalion, to be Major (temporary); Lieutenants C. A. Voss, and L. .T. Smith and Lieutenant (temporary) W. J. Dick, Ist Battalion, to be captains (temporary) ; Lieutenant and Quartermaster W. S. Dingle, Ist Battalion, to be Captain and Quartermaster (temporary).
