CONSTABLE RETIRES.
Me'mbers.of the staffs of the Central wharf and Freeman's Bay police stations attended a ceremony at the Newton police station to farewell Constable James V. Leslie, who is retiring from the force after more than 20 yeare' service. Constable Leslie, who hue been at Newton for the !aet four years, formerly served at Whangarei, Ponsonby, Waipu, where he was constable in charge, and Huntly, where he was second in charge. On behalf of the staff of the station, Sergeant W. J. K. Brown presented Conetable Leslie with * dinner eei.
