OBITUARY.

MB. FREDRICK DAVYS. The death occurred on Sunday of Mr. Frederick Davys, a well-known Hautapu farmer,' aged 83 years. He was born in Somerset, England, and, with his parents, came to New Zealand in 1862 in the sailing ship Hanover. The family lived for some yeare at Thames and then moved to the Waikato.' Mr. Davys and his brothers worked at eawmilling and bushfelling until 1900, when he took up dairying at Hautapu. He was a member of the Cambridge Bowling Club for many yeare, and was a staunch adherent of the" Methodist Church. In 1900 ha was married to Miss Mary Ellen Taylor, of Taupiri. His wife died 21 years ago, and he is survived by three sons. MR. F. 0. IRVINE. The death hee occurred in Auckland of Mr. Francis Oates' Irvine at the age of 87. Mr. Irvine, who was born in Leeds, came to New Zealand with his father, Dr. Wymes Irvine, of Nelson, in the ship Persia 81 years ago. He was a cousin of Captain Oates, who perished in the Scott expedition to the South Pole. He is survived by three sons and one daughter. There are 15 grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren.
