Britain.
NEARLY HALF WORLD SUPPLY. British Official Wireless. „JRec<L 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. fl. Monti* by month the production of British dye stuffs lias been increasing, and is now approaching . 125,000 tons, which is about half the world s.*>ply. Industrial undertakings hitherto dependent upon Germany, France and Italy for their siipplies are progressively increasing their purchases from Britain. In war-time actual figures cannot be given, biit'the increase is officially stated to be ''very substantial indeed." In 1914 Britain produced only about onetenth of the dyes she used. Last year she made four-fiftlis, or £6,000,000 worth, of the needs for the home market.
Germany, Prance and Italy recently produced among, them 39.8 per cent of the world output, estimated at 2:50,000 tons, the United Kingdom's share being 11 per cent. From these figures it is possible to judge the effort which British dye stuffs manufacturers are now making in the export market.
