French Committees Formed

British Official Wireless. (Reed. 2 p.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 6. The headquarters of the Free French forces announce that a number of national committees are being created in all foreign countries where there are important colonies of French people.

These committees are acting in close co-oj>crat ion with the Free French Force? and in the framework of the laws of their residence. At the moment such committees ha 1 * e been set iq» in the following countries: Brazil, the Argentine, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Egypt, South Africa, Australia and Mauritius.

In 20 other countries private individuals of French nationality have offered their services in this respe«*t, and General de Gaulle has selected in each of these countries repres mtatives who have been duly appointed and arc setting up national committees wherever these do not exist already.

The announcement adds that from all parts of the world the headquarters of the Free French Forces received messages reaffirming their loyalty to the Free France movement. These messages have particular significance after the Dakar incidents. General de Gaulle has replied thanking the signatories for their encouragement and reaffirming his belief in final victor}* in co-operation with the Allies.

Several members of the French Air Force have been eourt-inatialled at Casablanca for refusing to take part in the recent raids on Gibraltar, says the Tangier correspondent of the British United Press, according to a Press Association message.

The French radio at Tunis says General Weygand has arrived at Dakar, where lie was enthusiastically received.
