DISCHARGED VOLUNTEERS
; ORGANISATION FORMED. i ———^— At a meeting of the Discharged Volunteeis' Association held during the week several mutters were discussed concerning ' employment and other matters vitally important to men on discharge from the military forces. The members resolved to open other branches throughout the country, and at the same time to expand i the already large Auckland branch. To encourage attendance it was decided - to mix business with pleasure, and at the : conclusion of the next general meeting a • smoke concert will be held. Items of entertainment will be given. At the meeting the ntiicial D.V.A. badge i was issued to members and remarks were '. j>aaped as to the smartness of the design. . The badge is in the form of a silver disc with pin attached. The letters ■'D.V.A.," a urn leaf with the letters, "X.Z." imi printed on it arc on the oval surface of the badge. Only volunteers can obtain : badges and to do so they-must produce ' papers of identification or discharge. They i must, of course, be members of the association. The meeting ended on a warm >iotc of appreciation for the work done in assisting discharged men to rehabilitate themselves in civilian life after spending luonths in camp.
