THE TRAFFIC BRANCH.

LIST OF APPOINTMENTS. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Several appointments and promotions in the traffic branch of the New Zealand Railways have been announced. '

Mr. C. D. McKenzie, goods agent at Punedin, has been appointed assistanttraffic manager at Dunedin. He will replace Mr. F. G. Clark, who has been appointed stationmaster at Christchurch. Mr. Clark succeeds Mr. C. A. Legg, who has retired on superannuation.

Mr. G. G. Carnie, stationmaster at Wanganui, has been appointed' goods agent at Dunedin. Mr. N. S. Dew, business agent'at Dunedin, succeeds -Mr. Carnie at Wanganui.

Mr. E. T. Osborne, etationmaeter-in-charge at Westport, hae been appointed stationmaeter at New Plymouth. He succeeds Mr. A. H. W. Evenden who has been granted leave of absence from "the Department to take up military duties. Mr. R. Marshall, stationmaster-in-charge

at Picton, succeeds Mr. Osbora* at Westport.

Mr. J. D. C. Davis, stationmaster at Taihape, retired on superannuation at the beginning of. thie week and.is .being succeeded by Mr. P, W. Knights, ehief clerk at Taumarunui. Mr. R. J. Rae, stationmaeter at Featherston,' goes to Taumarunui as chief clerk and will be succeeded at Featherston .by Mr. H. Crawford, shift clerk at Te Kuiti.

Mr. H. A. Pope, stationmaster at Putaruru, hae been appointed stationmaster-in-charge at Picton, and Mr. C. S. Reynolds, stationmaeter at Otorohanga, has been appointed stationmaster at Putaruru.

Mr. M. Coutte, senior clerk at Picton, has been appointed stationmaster at Milton. Mr. J. Curran, stationmaster at Palmerston (South Island), has been transferred to Bluff ae stationmaster. Mr. S. E. Smith, stationmaster at Mataura, replaces Mr. Curran as stationmaster at Palmerston.

Mr. H. J. Davis, clerk in the district traffic manager's office at Invercargill, has been appointed stationmaeter at Mataura.—(Preee Assn.)
