AWARUA'S HEW RECORD.

A new record for the west-bound trip from Auckland to Sydney was made by Tasman Empire Airways' n>in<r boat Awarua in completing her flight yesterday in seven hour* 55 minuteCaptain J. W. Burgess was in command, fifteen passengers were carried, 4001b of mail and 2001b of freight. The Awarua will return on Sunday. During the four months' period to the end of August, the Aotearoa and the Awarua have carried 331 passengers, flown 443,540 miles, and carried 15,6211b of mail and 45071b of freight. The 1340mile route has beeu flown 45 times and the average time for the crossing has Been nine hours 14 minutes.
