Evelyn Blanche Barber, of Ponsonby (Mr. Haigh) against Bridges, Overington and Company, butchers (Mr. West),: for £1000 compensation. Evidence given in the caee last week was to the effect that claimant's husband, Benjamin J Richard Barber, aged 48 years, collapsed and died immediately when' engaged in his work as a butc-her in the defendant company's shop in Jervois Road. After an- exhaustive survey Sof the i evidence and the law cases cited in the caee, his Honor found that plaintiff had failed to prove that the work done by her husband contributed to his death, 'though the death had happened in the course of his employment.
