JUBILEE TROPHY.
TEACHERS TO CHALLENGE.
GRAMMAR OLD BOYS TAKE
POLLARD CUP.
The Auckland Rugby Football Union yesterday declared Takapuna winner of the Gallaher Shield for the season, and accepted the Training College challenge for the Jubilee Trophy, which went to Takapuna along with the championship when Marist was defeated 13—8 on Saturday. Challenges for the Jubilee Trophy were received from the Marist, Otahuhu, Suburbs and Technical, besides Training College. The selection of Training College was due to its having the best record in the second round of the championship. Both Takapuna and Training College scored 10 points, the next best being Suburbs, with 9, and Marist with 8. The second division of the championship has also been closed, with Grammar winner of the Pollard Cup. Grammar won all its games, scoring 10 points, Air Force, Manukau and Garrison Artillery each having 8 points. The curtain-raiser Park on Saturday afternoon will be between Air Force and Garrison Artillery for the Maben Memorial Cup. This competition was instituted for the various Services teams, but, owing to the difficulties in arranging Hatches of late at Papakura, and also on account of the absence of Navy teams, it has been decided that the winner between Air Force and Garrison Artillery shall hold the trophy.
