SILVER STREAK'S VICTORY.
DUNEDIN, this day.
Silver Streak has always been a favourite with the racing public, buit it is doubtful if this game little son of Paper Money ever received a better reception than he did at Oamaru when he won the Munro Handicap and returned the beet dividend of the afternoon. Silver Streak is now 11 years old, and hie owner had definitely decided to retire him last season. Ail through the autumn and winter he has been using him as shepherd's hack. On this undulating country Silver Streak has had plenty of hill work, and when his old trainer saw him a month ago he pereuaded his owner to give him another run. He was carrying more condition on Saturday than in former years, but it did not ■trouble him, and his win was an easy one. Silver Streak holds the record of having won the principal sprint races at Riccarton, Ellerslie and Trentham in the same season. He will be given a race at the Wingatui meeting.
