ONEHUNGA ATHLETES.
GROUND TO BE FLOODLIT.
The Onehunga Amateur Athletic Club wUI comment* its second athletic season at Walkaraka Park to-morrow evening. The club this year will have the ground floodlit. Like most athletic clubs, the Onehunga Club will undoubtedly sutler a drop in senior membership on account of the war, but It is hoped this wIU be offset by an increase in the membership in the ladlee, and to some extent, the junior sections. The club la also looking forward to a big Increase In the intereet in the children's sections, and has decided to introduce two new sections, which are to be known as the lady and Junior intermediate sections. The idea behind this decision is that there are a number of boys and glrle who wUI take advantage of these sections to gain experienoe on the athletic field before Joining In the registered sections ot the Junior and ladles' competitions. it is alto hoped to make cycling a bigger feature on the programme this year, and with this end In view a number of men Interested in cycling have been approached to act as officials. Another new departure ot the club this year will be a series ot cycle races for the newsboys of the Onehunga district.
The programme arranged for to-momsw night, consists of events tor all sections, and included are field events ton ladles, Juniors and senior*. e
