CLOTHES IDENTIFIED.
ON. MAN'S SKELETON. MISSING OYER A YEAR. As the result of inquiries made by the police following the discovery on Sunday evening of a ekeleton in some teatree on the slopes above Wattle Bay, near Blockhouse Bay, it is believed the remains are those of Mr. Jeffrey Cope, aged 49, a labourer, of Kitchener Road, SandriiKrham, who has' been '{missing from his home since September 23, 1939. A laundry mark on the clothing bore the initials "J.C." Perusing copies of the "Police Gaizette,"- it was found that in September last an issue contained particulars of Mr. Jeffrey Cope, reported to the police as missing. This morning a son of Mr. Cope identified clothing as that'worn by .his father when he disappeared. Mr. Cope suffered from lapses of memory," and it is believed that he wandered away and died of exposure in the spot where his remains "were found. ? 1 Am jiMjjrrit will fee held.
