EARLY CROSSBRED APPRAISALS. ! Crossbred and comeback wools are already being offered In appreciable quantities tor appraisement in Sydney, says the "Sydney Morning Herald." Their early appearance In the season's catalogues Iβ due to the preferential treatment being given them because of their special suitability in the making of equipment for the troops. ' Some growers may be surprised that the crossbred section of their clips is being appraised so quickly. In'other case*, Merino producers may 'be disappointed that, though their wool Is not yet dealt with, later shorn crossbred* have been submitted. The procedure is a wartime necessity, j Crossbred wool grown In Australia comprises only 17 per cent, of the clip,.but so large is the wool production that the quantity of crossbred is substantial. Last season the appraisements of ; crossbred*. Including carry-over stocks. In the Commonwealth, were 621,178 bales.
