Close Of Campaign

Dear Sunbeams— And so the campaign closes. Oh, dear, I feel so sad! It doesn't seem possible that I won't be having any more cheery little sunbeams corning in to see me with queries like: "How many stitches do 1 cast on for a five-inch patch?" or "Can we have a peep at your baby clothes box?" or such proud statements as "A hundred and seventy patches in this quill, Wendy, all crocheted by ME," and "Jean and Kath and I saved up this fifteen shillings all by ourselves," and "We had a concert, and John danced the Highland fling and Molly sang 'The Umbrella Man' "... (the result being a jingling tin of pennies.) Sunshine House is still full of parcels yet to be opened. I see all kinds of queer-shaped bundles, boxes and packages which 1 am longing to unwrap . . . but I mustn't until I have finished this letter and told you all how very proud I am of my fine army of busy little workers and the marvellous work they do. This last week has been one of fun and excitement, but also one of very great happiness. Never before have such beautiful quilts arrived at Sunshine House, never before have so many dainty baby clothes filled our cupboards, and my heart fills with thanks and gratitude when I remember the wee babies and old sick people, whose lives will be gladdened and made a little easier because of the efforts of my Sunbeams. Don't be disappointed if your club has only a small score of points to its credit . . . no matter how little you have done, that little has been a ray of sunshine to someone; some poor child has been helped because of you. Next week Twe shall read for the last time this year our happy Sunshine notes . . . and » look t°°< at that fascinating ladder! Until then, ft i dear Sunbeams, my sincerest thanks. Love to ' you all.
