RAIDS ON GERMANY. Nazi Communiques Admit Damage Done. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Red. 10 a.m.) BERLIN, Sept. 12. A German High Command communique states: "British 'planes last night dropped many bombs in north German cities, including Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin. "Numerous fires were started in residential districts and workmen's quarters. Fourteen persons were killed aud 41 injured. Effective anti-aircraft fire and good A.R.P. work prevented greater damage. "British 'planes flew over Berlin at a great height. Incendiary bombs set lire to a factory in north-west Berlin, in addition to a number of nearby houses and business premises. There were several small craters made in the Tiergarten. "Our bombers continued retaliatory.' attacks against London, setting lire to dock and harbour installations, and striking gas and electricity stations, a powder factory, and an armaments factory. Another target was the great fuel oil stores at Port Victoria. "We also bomWd harbours at' Liverpool and towns on the south and west coasts of England. A bomber squadron set fire to a destroyer and four merchant men in the Thames Estuary and hit two other ships."Ritter air combats developed over Enplaiul. The enemv lost SO 'planes yesterday, including 12 over the Continent. Twenty of ours are missing. "Two U-boats have s\mk a total of 47,000 tons of shipping."' MONEY FOR 'PLANES. GERMAN-BORN ACTOR.
