EGG PRODUCTION.
DELAY IN INFORMATION. CAMPAIGN IMPEDED. PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday. Criticism of delay in providing information concerning the drive for increased egg production to assist Britain was expressed at a meeting of the Manawatu District Primary Production Council to-dny. Regarding the financing of such ventures, the Director of Primary Production wrote stating that applications should be deferred pending an announcement of the price to be paid to the producer for eggs for export. It had been decided that assistance should not be extended to the establishment of new units, but confined to existing producers to enable them to increase their output. The chairman, Mr. J. Linklater, said it was most unfair to expect members of the council to advocate more production when there was no information regarding the price and other details'. The campaign was being impeded by lack of information. It was decided to ask the Government to supply th« information as soon as possible.
