AMERICANS HELD. Action Against Standard Oil Employees. tJnited Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 12.30 p.m.) PEIPING, Aug. 29. The correspondent of the Domei news agency at Yokohama says that Mr. G. L. Holland and 34 employees of the Standard Vacuum Oil Company have been arrested on charges of violating the Currency Control Act.
The Japanese at Kalgau have arrested a British missionary, Mr. Allen Benson, who is charged with espionage and suspected of heading nn anti-Japanese society operating in Mongolia.
They have also arrested over 30 Chinese.
The "Asahi Shimbun" eays the Japanese Salvation Army, which has been suspected of espionage, has decided to sever its connection with London headquarters and change the name to the Salvation Association, also military titles and uniforms. It will be reorganised as a pure Japanese religious body.
