RESENTMENT EXPRESSED.
TEMPORARY CIVH, SERVANTS.
WELLINGTON, this day.
Strong resentment of the tenor of letters forwarded to temporary public servants in the Land and Income Tax Department adversely criticising their work during the last year, was expressed at a meeting held in the lunch hour today. The meeting decided to draw up a resolution asking for the removrl from the files of the Commissioner's reports on which the letters were based, and requesting an immediate further report on each man's work. Copies of the resolution are to be forwarded to the senior officer on each floor, and the Commissioner.
Some of the letters stated that the work of the addressee wae to be subject to a further re.port m three months' time to determine whether or not hie services would be dispensed with. Tho letters were described as false, and unfair by the meeting.—(Preee A*en.)
