S. AFRICAN BUDGET.
MILLIONS FOR DEFENCE.
(Reed. 10 a-m.) CAPETOWN, Aug. 28.
The Minister of Finance, Mr. J. H. Hofnieyr. has presented a supplementary Budget of £32 ? «38.000. of which £32.00o! 000 is required for defence, making a total defence allocation for the year of £46,000.000. Income tax and euper tax are both being increase.] by 20 per cent, which would be a special war levy.
