PROPOSAL FOR SOLDIERS. WELLINGTON, thie day. Proposals that the marriage laws be amended to permit eoldiere serving overseas being married by proxy were diecussed by the Wellington" Provincial Patriotic Council yesterdav.* .
The chairman, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, of Wellington, said he understood the only people who could be married by proxy were Royalty. So much of the important business*of life wae done. by correspondence that it seemed reason* able that one should 'be able to get married by correspondence. , It wae decided that the subject required, further consideration before any action wae taken.—(Press* Awn.) ]
