Domestic business occupied the attention of delegates ti the 27th annual . conference of the North Island (X.Z.) ■ Motor Union, Inc., when the council of '■ the union opened proceedings in the ; Auckland Electric Power Board building I to-day. : One of the two vice-presidents, Mr. J ' H. Edmundson, was in the chair, and other officers of the union wbc were present were the president, Dr. E. E. i Porritt, the vice-president, Mr. A. Grayi son, the immediate past-president, Mr. W. A. O'CaUaghan, and Messrs. F. G. Farrell and G. W. Hutchison (Auck- , land), W. T. Guild and V. Duff (Tara- • naki). J. C. Allen and G. Laurence (South Taranaki), A. S. Burgess and F. J. Hill (Wanganui), W. H. Brown and S. L McKenzic (Manawatu), R. W. j Roydhouse and X. C. C. Shepherd (Wairarajia). E. Palliser and W. A. Sutherland (Wellington), and Dr. W. D. ; Fitzgerald and Mr. C. V. Freedman , (Hawke's Bay). >. Messrs. P. W. Breen (Dunedin) and P. Harvey (Christcliurcli) represented ' the South Island (X.Z.) Motor Union, Inc. The conference will be continued to- . morrow, when general matters will be discussed.
