BIRTHDAY DANCE.

A fancy dress ball to celebrate Con noil's fifth birthday was held last night in St. Mary's Hall. There was a large attendance, many being in fancy costumes. The judge, Mr. Marks, awarded prizes as follows: Ladies, Miss V. Thompson (English crinoline), Miss Mary Lynch (tea), Miss Chere Hindinan (horse); men, Mr. Hanson (gipsy). Mr. D. Hammond (John Bull), Mr. Robert Moflitt (Goering). Miss Williamson guessed nearest to the weight of the birthday cake. Mrs. G. Connon was hostess, and Mr. Harry Austin carried out the duties of master of ceremonies.
