SUPERANNUATION.
QUESTION OF WITHDRAWAL
WELLINGTON, this day.
Notice of question was given in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. Lee (Democratic Labour, Grev Lynn) on behalf of the member for Napier (Mr. Barnard) as to whether the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) would give temporary civil servants, who were paying into the superannuation fund and who now found they were unable to afford the payments, the opportunity to withdraw from the fund, in view of the fact that they had no prospect' of permanent appointment.
Mr. Lee said that the case in pointwas that of a temporary clerk with a wife and two children dependent upon him, who found that payment of 6 per cent superannuation, plus 2/ in the £ for social security and national security, left him insufficient to provide for himself, his wife and family.—(Parliamentary Reporter).
