Althougli no certainty exists, it is thought that two horses which have been shipped from England for residents in the YVanganui district may have been in the Turakina, which was attacked by a raider in the Tasman Sea. The five-year-old horse Golden Eagle, which is being shipped to Mr. M. Grogan, of Wcptmerc, for stud purposes, left England in July. About the sanie time the English Derby winner, Coronae, was shipped for Mr. J. G. Alexander, of Maxwell.— (Press Assn.)
